This basic cremation option involves cremation with no formal ceremony. Maine State law (TITLE 32 §1405), dictates, "the body of a deceased person shall not be cremated for 48 hours after decease, unless that individual died of a contagious of infectious disease."

The 48 hour waiting period provides time for the completion of all required legal documents and when necessary, provides time for medical/legal investigation prior to cremation.

Funeral Ceremony with cremation

This cremation option involves a service or gathering held at our funeral home, a church, another public facility, or private residence. Many families choose to have the casketed body present for the ceremony. Others desire only the cremated remains present for the gathering. Typically, a public or private visitation precedes the ceremony. The casket may be open or closed for the visitation and/or ceremony according to the family's wishes. Following the desired service or gathering, the body is transported to the crematory for cremation in the casket or a special cremation container. Before cremation can take place, a signed authorization must be obtained from the responsible party.

This option includes:

     ♦  Basic services of the funeral director and staff

     ♦  Removal and sheltering of the deceased

     ♦  Embalming and other body preparations

     ♦  Use of our facility, equipment, and staff for the visitation and service

     ♦  Transportation to the crematory

     ♦  Necessary services of staff and authorizations

     ♦  All related service items including a keepsake register book memorial folders,
       and acknowledgement cards


Memorial Ceremony with Cremation

This cremation option involves a service or gathering held at our funeral home, a church, another public facility, or a private residence without the body present for the ceremony. Public or private visitation with or without the body may precede the ceremony. During the service of gathering, the cremated remains may or may not be present. As with all cremation services, a signed authorization must be obtained from the responsible party before the body can be cremated.

This option includes:

     ♦  Basic services of the funeral director and staff

     ♦  Removal and sheltering of the deceased

     ♦  Embalming and other body preparations (visitation only)

     ♦  Use of our facility, equipment, and staff for the service and for visitation if applicable

     ♦  Transportation to the crematory

     ♦  Necessary services of staff and authorizations

     ♦  All related service items including a keepsake register book memorial folders,
       and acknowledgement cards
