WARREN - Geraldine F. York (Geri) 70, passed away peacefully at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Sunday, June 24, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Born in Rockland, August 2, 1947, Geri was the daughter of Geraldine Francis Everett and her father. She attended Rockland District High School graduating in 1965.

Geri married the love of her life, Charles E. York, July 2, 1966.

Geri’s first employment was at GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro for several years. She later worked at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, before beginning employment at Frank D. Rowe School which later became Warren Community School. In her 20 years at that school, Geri became one of the friendly faces of the front office. She knew all of the children and their families by name. After retiring Geri remained active in SAD 40 as a substitute teacher. She also became an active member of the Warren Food Pantry, Wine Ladies Group and a yearly helper at Vacation Bible School at the Warren Baptist Church.

Geri’s passion in life was to her family and friends. She always supported her boys, and was a very devoted grandmother, helping to raise all six of her grandchildren. Geri was always their biggest cheerleader at school activities and functions. We love you ‘The General’, till we meet again.

Geri is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charlie; two sons, Kenneth, Michael and his wife Kimberly; six grandchildren, Joshua Dodge, Elizabeth York, Anthony York, Jacob York, Nicholas York and Katelyn York; one great-grandchild Emma all of Warren; her brother Peter Everett and his wife Karen of Owls Head; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.
