NORTH HAVEN – Betty A. Greenlaw, 84, lifelong North Haven resident, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough following a short illness.

Born in Rockland, July 11, 1927, she was the daughter of James and Ethel Thornton Haskell. Growing up on the island, Betty attended school there and graduated from North Haven High School.

On June 29, 1946, she married Donald F. Greenlaw on North Haven.

Betty worked many years cleaning homes. She loved spending time with her family, planting her gardens, taking drives around her beloved island, and animals, especially her dog ‘Cody’.

Predeceased by her husband, Donald, March 16, 2006, and her sister, Hershall Haskell, May 19, 2010, Betty is survived by two daughters, Brenda McMickle, Donna Greenlaw both of Lyman, one son, James Greenlaw; one brother, Lewis Haskell both of North Haven; three grandchildren, Jacob & Emily Greenlaw of North Haven, Courtney Boucher of Lyman; one great grandchild, Maggie Lyn Greenlaw of North Haven; as well as nieces and nephews..

Friends and family are invited to visit from 11:00 to 11:20 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the North Haven Baptist Church, where a funeral service will follow. The Reverend David Macy will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Sea View Cemetery, North Haven.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maine Chapter Headquarters of the Alzheimers Association, 383 US Route One, Scarborough, ME 04072 or the North Haven Baptist Church, P. O. Box 435, North Haven, ME 04853.
